April’s Offering: Elderberry Class
General Class Overview
In this class you will get to:
Learn about the history of elderberry, and why it’s an important plant for the future
Explore Elderberry’s ecological niche and growth patterns
Discuss the ecosystem benefits of growing a native berry bush such as elderberry in your backyard
Participate in a hands-on pruning demonstration, so that you can prune your own bush for years to come
BONUS! Take home your very own elderberry cutting and learn tips for successful propagation

Class Schedule
Elderberry Class will take place on Tuesday, April 22nd from 6pm-7:30pm in Northampton, MA. You will receive directions upon enrollment in the class. Rain date of Thursday, April 24th from 6pm-7:30pm.
Course Fees
This class runs for one and a half hours and is offered on a sliding scale from $20-$80. 10% of all course fees will be given as a land tax to Pequoig Farm. (You can learn more about the concept of a land tax from the Sogorea Te’ Land Trust here).
Access Notes
This class will take place in a backyard in Northampton with a flat, grassy terrain. There will be chairs to sit on if desired. The class will take place in all weather conditions except heavy rain, so dress warmly!
